Overview

The Department, which has been an integral part of the College ever since its inception offering instruction in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Electrical and Graphics to students of the various core branches of engineering, is devoted to faster the understanding of basic scientific principles . The academic programs of this department are designed to meet the requirements of the fast growing technology.

Objectives

  • To inform and motivate students to study the fundamental aspects of science and its applications.
  • To enable the students to analyse and apply mathematical and scientific techniques in engineering technology.
  • To encourage students to pursue careers in science and engineering.

Facilities / Labs available in General Department

Mechanical Workshop
Established in 1999 . The objective of this workshop is to familiarise the basic manufacturing processes and to study the various tools and equipment used, hands-on training is given in different sections. Essentially student should know the labour involved, machinery or equipment necessary, time required to fabricate and also should be able to estimate the cost of the product or job work.

Laboratory Equipments

Carpentry: Middle lap T joint, cross lap joint, mortise and tenon T joint, Bridle T joint b.

Fitting: Square joint, V joint, half round joint, dovetail joint.

Location : Room No: 011 , Academic Block

Science Lab

The purpose of this course is to develop scientific temper in experimental techniques and to reinforce the physics concepts among the engineering diploma students and also to acquire knowledge in the principles of chemistry for engineering applications.

Location : Room No: 207 , Academic Block

Graphics Hall

To enable the student to effectively communicate basic designs through graphical representations as
per standards.

Location : Room No: 208 , Academic Block.
